In my personal view, the restaurant industry will not be overturned for quite a long time. There are several reasons for this.

First, unmanned restaurants have difficulty satisfying customers’ preferences and demand for variety, especially when it comes to Chinese restaurants. Different dishes have their own distinct qualities and styles, and this is not a problem that one or two unmanned restaurant models can solve. By comparison, fast food chains like KFC are much more likely to become examples of disruption or reform. Their highly standardized food and service make it possible for machines to replace human labor.

Second, from a humanistic perspective, whether it is restaurants, shops, or bookstores, these spaces ultimately require human care and warmth. This is something that an unmanned business model finds difficult to replace.
