My personal suggestion is that if you are majoring in electrical engineering, learning C# would be a better option. C# is relatively easy to pick up and has fairly broad coverage. By contrast, if you are not in a computer-related major, studying databases can be a bit too limited.
That said, why not learn Python instead? If you really want to learn some programming, I would recommend Python even more.
