[Answer] What are the library and classroom environments like at Tsinghua University? Are they suitable for self-study?

The library was once the best place for self-study. Back when conditions were still relatively basic and the dormitories did not have air conditioning, it was practically a study haven. People would line up early in the morning, sometimes forming very long queues every day, just to get in (though I only happened to witness that once). With air conditioning, hot water, and all kinds of reference materials, there was hardly any place more suitable than the library.

That said, the new library is often short on available space, so if you cannot get a spot there, the next best option is the old library. Its conditions are a bit worse by comparison, and the large lobby can be somewhat distracting, but overall it is still quite decent.

As for classrooms, there are well-equipped ones such as the Sixth Teaching Building, as well as relatively older ones like the First Teaching Building and the West Lecture Hall. But generally speaking, the conditions and resources for self-study are very abundant.
