[Answer] Are Shuidichou and Qingsongchou trustworthy?

Personally, I used to feel the same as the original poster: I never thought these platforms were very trustworthy, and I would automatically skip past any reposted fundraising campaigns.

That changed one day—the day before yesterday, actually—when I saw the name of a classmate I knew in one of those shared fundraising posts. I called to ask about it, and sure enough, something terrible had happened. That experience made me feel much more positively about platforms like these.

There is no doubt that the fraudulent donation cases we all worry about have harmed the reputation of these platforms. But at the same time, platforms like these really have helped a number of families receive desperately needed aid when they had nowhere else to turn.

So I think what matters even more is proper oversight and regulation. I hope the relevant authorities will take action to strengthen supervision, so that people who truly need help can receive it, and so that there can be effective monitoring of how the raised funds are used. Ideally, that would help society move in a more positive direction overall.

Sigh—I really hope my old classmate recovers soon.
