[Answer] What works tell stories about infinite loops?
I once read a sci-fi story called One-Day Prison, and there should be a similar film as well. It’s about being trapped in a single day with no way to escape, repeating over and over.
Two other examples come to mind. In Greek mythology, Prometheus was punished for stealing fire: every day an eagle would tear out his entrails, and at night they would grow back, repeating endlessly. Then there is the punishment of Sisyphus, forced to push a huge boulder up a mountain only for it to roll back down again.
It really does seem that an endless cycle is a form of inescapable and severe punishment.
