[Answer] What Household Appliances Are Must-Haves for Lazy People?

I recommend putting together a smart home setup.

I’m using Tmall Genie as an example, since I haven’t tried other brands, though I imagine they work similarly. At a fairly low cost, you can turn your home’s lights, curtains, and air conditioner into automated devices. Through Tmall Genie and its smart plugs, even appliances that do not have built-in smart features can still be controlled by voice. That means, with basically just one Tmall Genie, you can control nearly all the appliances in your home. It really is a must-have for lazy people.

This kind of smart home system, centered around a smart speaker, completely changed my previous understanding of smart homes. Thanks to AI-based voice technology, smart speakers can achieve fairly high speech recognition accuracy and command conversion at a relatively low cost. At the same time, they use some clever methods to make it easier for users to upgrade appliances around the house.

For example, lighting can be upgraded either with affordable smart bulbs or by adding a very small device behind the wall switch panel. Air conditioners and other appliances that rely on remote controls can also be adapted with a small infrared remote hub.
