[Answer] I Want to Install Linux — Which Distribution Would You Recommend?
If you don’t have much hands-on system administration experience, doing a one-click Linux installation can still be somewhat difficult in practice. If your goal is learning, and your computer is powerful enough, you might want to consider installing and trying Linux in a virtual machine first. If you rashly replace the only computer you use for study or work with Linux, while lacking enough Linux experience and knowledge, you will likely run into many inconveniences very quickly. Most commonly used software is not available on Linux, and that inconvenience may affect your willingness to keep using it. So I strongly recommend trying it in a virtual machine first and then transitioning gradually.
As for installation, there is another option: most Linux distributions provide a LiveCD mode. In other words, you can learn and experience the system by running it directly from removable media without actually installing it. For beginners, I recommend Ubuntu or Fedora (in fact, I’ve only used these two myself). You can download the ISO file from the distribution’s website, burn it to a disc, or follow the official instructions to create a bootable USB drive. Then, when starting the installer, choose LiveCD mode first. In general, even if you plan to do a full installation, it is still a good idea to use LiveCD mode first to check hardware compatibility so you can spot problems early or prepare the necessary drivers.
If you don’t care much about a desktop system, another option is to use Linux by renting a cloud server. Mature cloud server providers usually support one-click system installation.
